A couple of months ago, my friend Stephanie C. sent me her 100 (which I loved!) and challenged me to write my 100. It was very interesting to write. Here it is:

100 things that make me, ME!

  1. I grew up in Utah.

  2. I never had any desire to live any where else.

  3. I am happy in Texas.

  4. I am afraid of snakes.

  5. When I am worried about something, I dream about snakes.

  6. Being a mom is the best thing I have ever done.

  7. I have not gone one day in nearly 14 years without hearing the words "I Love You" from Maris.

  8. I have a paralegal certificate.

  9. My Bachelor's degree is in Political Science. I have a minor in Sociology.

  10. I worked my way through college and did not ever take out a student loan.

  11. It took me from 1988-1996 to finish my education.

  12. I was Student Body President in college.

  13. Being Student Body President gave me a lot of self-confidence.

  14. I met Maris because I was Student Body President.

  15. I was interviewed by Governor Leavitt before he appointed me to the Utah State Board of Regents.

  16. I had Tyler 6 weeks before the start of my last year at the U.

  17. On my 18th birthday, I got a second hole in my left ear as a form of rebellion.

  18. On my 19th birthday, I got a third hole.

  19. Unfortunately, this was not the most rebellious thing I ever did.

  20. I regret my mistakes, but feel that I grew tremendously from living through them.

  21. I have not worn more than one earring in each ear since President Hinckley said we shouldn't.

  22. I have an intense faith that things always work out the way they are supposed to.

  23. I love the idea of running in a marathon someday.

  24. I hate running.

  25. I used to run everyday, and even though I loved the high I felt from running, I never learned to love the actual running.

  26. I feel like people think I am better than I am. I am afraid that one day I will be exposed as a fraud.

  27. I love planting flowers and watching them grow.

  28. I hate being cold.

  29. I would like to lose a few pounds, but am not willing to put forth the effort it would take to do it.

  30. I don't really like camping.

  31. Ward YW Camp director was one of the best callings I have ever had.

  32. I prefer to work with children and youth rather than adults.

  33. I love to do laundry.

  34. I procrastinate and let things pile up and then break down and do everything all at once.

  35. I work better with a deadline.

  36. I used to think I had great legs and a cute behind. Now I have varicose veins, cellulite and am pear shaped.

  37. Pregnancy is what changed my body.

  38. My three children are worth all of it and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

  39. But I still claim to weigh 130 on my driver's license.

  40. I wanted to be an attorney.

  41. I don't anymore.

  42. I have always loved to watch my kids sleeping.

  43. I love to read.

  44. I am an obsessive reader. I will read a lot for a month or so, then not pick up a book again for months.

  45. I am sometimes impulsive.

  46. Sometimes I regret my decisions when I am being impulsive.

  47. The person I admire the most is my mom.

  48. Next to Maris, she is my best friend.

  49. I am very self-conscious.

  50. When I meet new people, I am afraid they won't like me.

  51. I read into people's actions too much.

  52. I want to go to New York and meet Matt Lauer on the plaza.

  53. I like to travel.

  54. I cannot sing.

  55. I cannot dance, I am too uncoordinated.

  56. I wish I could sing and dance.

  57. I want to learn how to play the piano.

  58. My favorite colors have always been purple and green.

  59. I have started to like pink a lot too.

  60. I am afraid of snakes coming into my house through the plumbing (toilet) and my dryer vent.

  61. I love 80's music.

  62. It reminds me of being 16.

  63. I loved being 16, but never would be willing to do it again.

  64. My favorite age ever was 24.

  65. I felt like I was in complete control of my life when I was 24.

  66. When I was 24, I went to Washington DC.

  67. When I was 24, I went on a cruise.

  68. When I was 24, I had my own apartment in SLC.

  69. When I was 24, I took a temple preparedness class.

  70. When I was 24, I met Maris.

  71. When I was 24, I went to the temple for the first time.

  72. When I was 24, I married Maris.

  73. We only knew each other for 4 1/2 months when we were married.

  74. It has confirmed my faith that Heavenly Father knows us and our needs very well.

  75. I have grown to love Maris more than ever the past two years.

  76. The last two years have been the hardest years of my life.

  77. I have learned more in the last two years than I could have possibly imagined.

  78. The thing I miss most about Utah is being able to drive to my mom's whenever I wanted to.

  79. I know I can count on my family for anything.

  80. I didn't go on a mission because I was afraid of being called to South America or Mexico.

  81. When I am with Maris, I feel like I can do anything.

  82. I am afraid of losing a close family member.

  83. It is one trial I don't think I could survive.

  84. I know that I can do anything I put my mind to.

  85. I want to be a professional photographer.

  86. I don't especially love to shop for myself.

  87. I wish I was a better decorator.

  88. I love to buy things for my home.

  89. I love to collect quotes.

  90. I am a good friend.

  91. I have a lot of friends.

  92. I have only a few close friends.

  93. I would trust them with anything.

  94. I wish I had more patience.

  95. I am better than I used to be.

  96. I am a good cook.

  97. I don't love cooking.

  98. I hate spending money on food.

  99. I love to send Christmas cards.

  100. I love to do things for other people. I don't like people to have to do things for me.
